I am now confident to have a baby shower ahead of my 16w scan. My result is Girl which I am so happy with! I did another gender blood test with a different company to confirm and that one also came back as Girl. Then I took a shower and did the test straight away to minimise contamination. I followed the instructions carefully but I also prepped the area by disinfecting, placing down a clean cloth and then the test kit on the cloth. I have a 7 month old son and I also live with my husband. I have to admit that the reviews here about people being ignored scared me into emailing a lot more because I thought I was being ignored but that ended up not being the case.

They were very kind and professional too.

I sent about 5 emails by Tuesday morning and they finally responded to my last email on Tuesday afternoon. raeroze, it’s a blood test They do them either at home or through a lab called Sneak Peek. I started emailing them over the weekend and I didn't get a reply. I doubt you will actually see a gender at 8 weeks especially in ultrasound most babies show I believe at 16weeks +, some although may show as early as 13-14 wks. When I reactivated my second test, I didn't get an email.

They sent me another test which I did on the Wednesday and I got my result on Tuesday evening. Time to get a refund.I sent my first test on a Tuesday and I got an inconclusive result the following Monday. Confirmed with NIPT and several ultrasounds. You have to wait until after baby is born though and provide a copy of the birth certificate.Īnyway, happy pregnancies and don’t announce the gender too soon! Sneak Peek will refund if the results are wrong, which from what I’ve read, their results are as accurate as a coin toss. My advice? Save yourself the stress and don’t go with Sneak Peek (read the online reviews on Amazon) and get a test done with your doctor (bonus: it checks for chromosome abnormalities and Sneak Peek is gender only.) To be honest, I wish I wouldn’t have done any of the early gender tests and just waited to have my 20 week ultrasound. I guess I will have to wait until the ultrasound in April and ultimately until baby is actually born (20 week scans can be wrong too!) So now I have no idea what I am having, but am leaning towards the Harmony results. But got used to the idea of 3 boys.Īt 10.5 weeks, my doctor recommended the Harmony test (I didn’t tell her I took Sneak Peek for fear of getting reprimanded haha) and took it a few days later at 11 weeks and some odd days at the hospital lab. I wanted a girl to balance out my kids, so was slightly bummed. I believe it was 3 or 4 days later and I got the results in my e-mail. Quite frankly, it was a messy and stressful affair. My counter and hand were covered in blood after. Well, I just had my 12 week scan on Friday and I’m really thinking the Sneak Peek is wrong. So I had to forego getting a clock or phone and just guesstimate which was way more stress than I intended. at 5:06 AM I had the Sneak Peak Clinical done at 8 weeks (so not the at home version, I went to a little boutique and had my blood drawn) and those results told us we were having a baby boy. So after locking myself in the bathroom afraid to contaminate anything, I read I need a clock or timer because the blood needs to be collected in a certain timeframe. Here’s the part that annoyed me the most: the directions are in the sealed and sterile box. I took a shower to remove any DNA and took the test naked to avoid contamination from clothes. I waited until my sons were asleep and bleached the entire bathroom. I read that you need to sterilize everything before doing the Sneak Peek test and to not have any males around to avoid contamination.

I ordered the Sneak Peek test around 8 weeks and took it when I turned 9 weeks. Just wanted to give my experience if any moms are looking into either of these tests to check for gender before their 20 week ultrasound.
